Reports: Real Madrid enquire for Harry Kane and are quoted big asking price

Real Madrid are already making plans for next season and the Spanish giants have placed Harry Kane at the very top of their wanted list.

The AS newspaper in Spain claim Real made contact with Tottenham Hotspur before Christmas, hoping to start discussions which would lead to a deal in the summer, but they didn’t receive the answer they were hoping for.

It is reported that a senior executive at Real Madrid spoke to the London club during the festive period, hoping to get an idea of the type of figure that would be required to start negiotiations.

It is claimed that in order to sign the number nine they dream of, the European champions were quoted €350million ($401million).

With the current record fee standing at €222million, which Barcelona received from Paris Saint-Germain for Neymar in the summer of 2017, it would make the Englishman the most expensive player in history.

Spurs, reportedly have factored in not only a figure which would put the Spanish club off any move, but also understanding Real's need to find a goal-scorer to replace the obvious gap created by Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure.

The London club take on Manchester United this weekend and Kane will be hoping to add to his goal tally.

His strike against Chelsea midweek in the Carabao Cup took him up to 20, making him the first-ever Spurs player to score 20 goals in five successive campaigns.
