Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was the match-winner for Arsenal as Unai Emery’s men completed a stunning second-leg comeback to progress in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday.
Aubameyang’s heroics mean the Gunners are into the quarter-finals of the competition for a second year running having managing to overturn a 3-1 first-leg deficit defeat to Rennes.
The North Londoners' record signing has 21 goals to his name this term and celebrated his second of the night at the Emirates in style.
He fished behind the advertising hoardings and revealed a Black Panther mask, from the smashhit Marvel movie, before running to the nearby camera and doing the ‘Wakanda forever’ hand gesture.
The 29-year-old is no stranger to wearing masks after finding the back of the net. During his time with Borussia Dortmund, he wore Spiderman and Batman masks to celebrate his goals.
However, this time around it was a bit more personal.
Speaking afterwards, Aubameyang revealed the thought process behind his unique celebration: “I needed a mask who represents me. It's Black Panther and in Gabon we call the national team the Panther of Gabon, so it represents me.”
We look forward to seeing what he's got up his sleeve next time!
