Almost 5 years ago, Paris Saint-Germain set itself the aim of becoming an international sports brand and one of the biggest clubs in Europe.
The first stages of the project illustrate its ambition. The team has won the French Ligue 1 title and qualified for the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League four years in a row. It has already won two trophies this year and is still en course in all French and international competitions.
Beyond the sporting achievement, the club enjoys excellent economic results. In 2015, Paris Saint-Germain made it into the top 12 most valuable clubs according to Forbes magazine, and the top 5 football clubs in terms of turnover. In June 2015, it rose to ninth place in the ranks of most-followed and best-loved global sporting brands on social media, while revenues have multiplied five-fold in just four seasons. The Club popularity is growing exponentially. The number of fans on social media went from 20 million at the end of last season to over 30 million in January 2016.
