The famed Manchester derby will take place outside of England for the first time as the two clubs meet at NRG Stadium in Houston on July 20 as part of the 2017 International Champions Cup presented by Heineken.
Houston was presented as the host of the match on Monday night at NRG Stadium.
NRG Stadium in Houston is no stranger to hosting big sports events such as the 2017 Super Bowl and the 2016 NCAA Final Four.
The Manchester Derby is one of the world’s oldest rivalries and dates back to 1902. The two teams have met a total of 173 times and together have won 24 English Premier League titles including seven of the last ten.
Both clubs feature of some the world’s top stars such as Paul Pogba, Wayne Rooney for United while their cross-town rivals feature David Silva and Sergio Aguero. Manchester City is managed by former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola while Manchester United is led by Jose Mourinho who has won league titles in four countries.
